Deadline for both GRANT Submissions – Deadline September 30, 2026

June 1, 2026: A call for two grants is being released for Summer 2026 

The Research Assistance Grant. To be eligible for research assistance funds, you must be a member of the Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association. Student members are eligible and encouraged to apply for research assistance; however, an OATA member must sponsor the application. Funding decisions will be made on the scientific merit of the proposal. 

  1. Grant awards are limited to a maximum of $1,000, but all reasonable requests with budget justification will be considered. Requests for participant honorarium pending board approval in September 2026.  
  2. Please use the form to fill in the following sections: (1) Purpose/ Relevance to Athletic Training, (2) Specific Aims/Hypothesis, (3) Experimental Design and General Methods, (4) Data Analysis, (5) References, and (6) Budget Justification (Excel Spreadsheet).  Sections 1-4 may not exceed 25 lines of single-spaced text (2100 characters). 

To access the Grant Submission Form you must go to the Member Area of the www.oata.org webpage.  Only grants submitted using the Grant Submission Form will be considered.   

The AdvocATe Grant. To assist ATs in need of non-expendable equipment for their athletic training facility. 

  1. Grant awards are limited to a maximum of $1,000. 
  2. The following must be provided: (1) Describe the non-expendable equipment that would be purchased with funds from the grant. (2) Describe the equipment needs, issue, and/or problem being addressed with funds from the grant. (3) Describe the plan to maintain the equipment purchased and to ensure its longevity. (4) Describe how having this equipment will change the way you are able to practice athletic training and the number of patients that will benefit from the equipment. These sections may not exceed 750 words.
